How can a “performer” like Britney Spears, who only gets attention because she shakes her ass and auto-tunes about threesomes and how everyone wants to screw her, be so popular while a truly talented and beautiful singer like Adele—who, by the way, won two fucking Grammys in 2009—is basically ignored?
Oh yeah, she’s fat.
FU, America.
Why is it that when I’m in a shitty mood, this song cheers me up?
I love Hair so much. Fucking hippies ftw.
More Bowie…
I was so obsessed with this CD (Earthling) when it came out and this was one of my favorite songs on it, though they’re all awesome. I was working at a website and we got a review copy of it, and I fought my manager for it… He wanted it badly, but I guess I whined enough, because i still have it…
I’ve always thought ‘97 was a good year for music because it gave me three of my all-time favorite CDs: this one, Ultra by Depeche Mode and Medazzaland by Duran Duran. I still listen to those two regularly but unfortunately forgot about the Bowie one until just now. Going to pull it out and put it back into rotation.
Jimmy Eat World, “Cut.” Love. It.
So excited they have a new CD coming out tomorrow. “Bleed American” meant so much to me at such a horrible time in my life (screw you, 2001-2002). They will always be one of my favorites..
And of course, no discussion of Beatles cover songs would be complete—not for me, at least—without a mention of my all-time favorite so-bad-it’s-awesome movie, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band starring the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton. Here’s their rendition of Golden Slumbers. Aaaand that should bring my posts about this song to a close.
My version of that kd lang song isn’t in mp3 thanks to stupid iTunes, and converting it is more than I can deal with at the moment, so that means tumblr won’t let me upload it. So, here it is on the YouTube instead.
I love cover songs of all shapes and sizes, and this is def. one of my favorites. When I’m feeling like being weepy and depressed, of course.
If he plays this song at the show on Friday, I will likely melt into a puddle in my seat and disappear. My life would be complete.
I am going to a Crowded House concert on Friday night.
I just found out about the show today. I am…so excited I’m speechless. I’ve been a fan for…oh boy, about 23 years, and never seen them live. This is the first song of theirs I heard, in 1987. Still one of my favorites.
So. Excited. Did I mention that?
I don’t give a damn bout my bad reputation… And I don’t really care if you think I’m strange, I ain’t gonna change…
Joan Jett kicks so much ass.
Heard this on the radio on the way to work this morning. Excellent way to start the day.
